First, as a technician, I attained the fundamental knowledge of hearing aid technology and practical skills from seeing how technology provides a better hearing experience if fit properly. I learned how variances in technology, testing, and fitting techniques impact success in hearing loss treatment and overall patient satisfaction. Because I was distressed by the level of patient care and attention available in our industry, I opened our first hearing center in 1994, for the sole purpose of focusing on our patient’s needs first.
